Volunteer Drivers needed at York Wheels

York Wheels is a voluntary organisation that provides a transport service for vulnerable community members who have difficulty accessing public transport. This includes elderly people, people with disabilities and those in receipt of benefits.

The service currently operates between 8am and 4.30pm on weekdays as well as offering a limited weekend service. The organisation assists people in making necessary trips to the doctor, dentist, hospital or shops, and also helps to combat social isolation by offering people visits to see friends or family, trips to the coast and visits to cinemas, libraries, coffee bars, restaurants and surrounding towns and cities.

If you’re a driver with access to a vehicle, have time to spare and would like to take on an extremely worthwhile volunteering role, please get in touch with York Wheels for more information.
