York Cares is dedicated to making York a better place through volunteering. We are partnered with over 200 different charities, and provide a number of programmes and events for employers and employees to take part in. However, if you are looking for more individual opportunities that are not covered by the specific York Cares events and programmes, you may wish to contact the following organisations.

Olympic Torch Relay Route Stewards:

Calling all employees! Could you be a Route Steward for the Olympic Torch as it travels through York? We need 300 employee volunteers to help with crowd and traffic management along the route of the Olympic Torch Relay.
