The Science of Food
This module is based around a fast-food meal. The pupils learn about what goes into their food, and how far it travels to get to their plate. They also get the chance to carry out their own experiments on food.
The 'Golden Moment' is a visit to a working lab at the Food Environment and Research Agency (FERA) at Sand Hutton.
"This is a golden opportunity for us to open our doors to local children and inspire the next generation of scientists." Lynn Gray, Head of Organisational Development, FERA.
Schools involved in this module include:
- Heworth CE Primary
- Osbaldwick Primary
