Membership: your questions answered
Q. What are the benefits to me as an employer?
A. We take all the time, hassle, risk and expense out of designing and delivering an effective volunteering programme. We do all the checking so you know your employees' time and effort will be best used. Offering employees organised opportunities to volunteer for community and charity projects is a great tool for attracting and retaining the best people.
Q. Why do I need to pay a fee?
A. We employ two part-time coordinators who do all the planning, organising and liaison between our members and the community groups and charities with whom we partner. The York Cares membership fee enables us to continue to do this, and to develop new programmes and seek out new community and charity partnerships for members.

A. York Cares is supported by over 20 leading York employers in finance, transport, engineering, hospitality, professional services, IT, local government and higher education.
