Shimmer and Shine with us this December
Christmas has always been an important time for us here at York Cares and this year is no different. Alongside our Christmas Collection and our Christmas Parties, this year we’re really excited to also be hosting Shimmer and Shine social club.
Shimmer and Shine is on 12 December at The De Grey Rooms and it promises to be a festive celebration bringing together older and younger neighbours from across the city. Social Clubs are designed to bring together older and younger neighbours to share time and new experiences. As part of Shimmer and Shine there are going to be various activities including a festive barn dance, festive crafts, Christmas carols and festive treats.
We are looking for employee-volunteers to support our Shimmer and Shine Social Club by getting involved in making decorations such as Christmas Crackers and table decorations or baking some festive treats which can be shared by neighbours attending the parties. Any baking must have all ingredients clearly listed. We are also asking for donations of raffle prizes to be used for a free raffle for the neighbours on the day.
